Kindergarten Girl!

Today was Eliza's first day of school! I can't believe that she is starting kindergarten! It will be fun to have just me and Skyler at home for a few hours every day, though. Eliza has 3 friends from our ward in her class with her, including one of her best friends, Jane, who lives next door to us. Jane is just about 4 months older than Eliza, but as you can see from the picture, she is very tall. It's funny to see them together. Emily is in 5th grade and Sarah in 3rd grade this year.

I haven't posted in a very long time....

I know I haven't posted in a LONG time, I'm so sorry! Here is a video from our Shuler family reunion (a full month ago) of Uncle Richard having a jam session with some of the kids. Unfortunately, I don't think this video does justice to our music. In spite of that, it was so fun for the kids (and the adults) to jam with uncle Richard, we'll have to ask him to bring his instruments again next year, and not save it for the last day!

Like Father, Like Son

Nate and Skyler had their pictures taken a couple weeks ago. It was a cold rainy day and Skyler was just not too thrilled to be there. I really wanted some cute pictures of them together, so we may have to try again sometime. Maybe I'll wait until Skyler has visible hair. These pictures make him look so bald! (He does have some hair--just very little!)

Boy, Oh Boy

I think these pictures speak for themselves!

A Homemade Christmas

I was super busy in December getting ready for Christmas. I had taken on many homemade projects, but luckily I was able to get them all done in time (some were done just in the nick of time!)

Nate, Emily and Sarah are modeling the scarves I knitted for them. On Eliza, I knitted the hat and mittens.

Here is Mandy, purchased on Ebay for Eliza by none other than Santa Claus himself. But I got to be the doll clothes elf! I also sewed nightgowns and crocheted beanies for 3 dolls (not pictured).

This adorable little creature was not exactly a Christmas present, but a birthday present for my nephew Josef. His birthday is December 27 so I still had to make him before Christmas!

I just love making homemade gifts. I don't always have the time to do it, but next year maybe I'll start a few months earlier...

The Tackiest Christmas Decoration Ever!

Many of you have probably seen the email that has been forwarded all over the internet. Well, Nate saw it and was inspired. Last night he was finally hanging our Christmas lights with less than two weeks until Christmas. (He hadn't taken last years down until mid-summer--we should've just left them!!) We were literally the last house on our street to have lights up and the pressure was on. Here's what he did:

You would not believe the traffic we've had today. First thing this morning, our neighbor from across the street ran over to help (she was sick, too). Then we had another call and ask me "Did you know Nate was dangling from the roof?" Several others stopped to help as well. At church everyone was talking about it so we had several more drive bys.

It is pretty funny, but I am going to insist that we take it down in a couple of days. It would get really old after awhile.

Halloween!

Eliza and Skyler were the frog prince and princess for trick or treating.

Help! Emily is being kidnapped by an alien!

At the family party, we had aviator, Mrs. America, alien abduction, kitten, Miss. Piggy and Kermit.
Eliza went to her school party as a butterfly.

Emily and Sarah went to school as a kitten and a clown.
